PolyGone Co-Founder Yidian Liu Wins Albert Einstein Award for Innovation
June 30, 2025
Yidian Liu, Co-Founder & COO of PolyGone Systems, has been honored with the Albert Einstein Award for Innovation at the 12th Annual New Jersey Immigrant Entrepreneur Awards. The award recognizes immigrant leaders whose innovative work drives economic growth and addresses critical challenges.
Liu, an immigrant Princeton graduate, co-founded PolyGone in 2021 with Nathaniel Banks to combat escalating microplastic contamination. The company has since secured over $3 million in funding, leveraging federal and state grants to develop critical hardware for microplastic interception and recovery.
While Yidian was away representing PolyGone in Tianjin for the World Economic Forum Summer Davos week, PolyGone’s CEO, Nathaniel Banks, received the award on her behalf and shared their journey as immigrant founders. “Being recognized with an award bearing the name of such a legendary innovator is both an incredible honour and a challenge to live up to the legacy it represents,” he said.
We are profoundly grateful to the New Jersey Business Immigration Coalition for this prestigious award. The honor provides powerful motivation for our team, driving the practice of PolyGone’s innovative concepts. We relentlessly pursue a cleaner, greener, and healthier planet, a future that we are dedicated to securing for everyone.
