PolyGone Co-Founder Yidian Liu named 2026 Tory Burch Foundation Fellow

June 24, 2026

PolyGone Systems, a cleantech startup developing microplastic filtration technology, announced today that Co-Founder and COO Yidian Liu has been named a 2026 Tory Burch Foundation Fellow. Liu joins a community of 120 women entrepreneurs from across the country selected for the fellowship, which provides access to mentorship, networks, and resources designed to help scale early-stage businesses.

PolyGone was founded by Liu and Co-Founder and CEO Nathaniel Banks while both were architecture students at Princeton University, where they began researching how wastewater infrastructure could be redesigned to address the growing crisis of microplastic pollution in the world's waters. The company has since developed filtration technology aimed at removing microplastics at scale, with its first municipal pilot now underway at a treatment plant serving more than 200,000 residents.

PolyGone plans to expand its filtration pilot program later this year, with additional systems planned for deployment.
