PolyGone Showcases Water Innovation at WEFTEC 2025

October 01, 2025

From September 27 to October 1, 2025, PolyGone participated in WEFTEC 2025, the world’s leading water quality event, engaging in forums that highlighted global innovation and collaboration in water sustainability. As part of the Circular Water Economy sessions, PolyGone joined the panel “Big Steps to Sequester and Eliminate Emerging Contaminants,” where co-founder Nathaniel Banks shared the company’s mission and breakthrough technologies for tackling microplastic pollution alongside partners from Enspired Solutions, Weaver Labs, The Water Council, and ecoSPEARS.

At the Global Center Reception, the PolyGone team took the opportunity to exchange ideas with international delegations and industry experts, deepening insights into global approaches to microplastic management. Discussions revealed that monitoring efforts often precede governing and removal initiatives, highlighting the importance of data-driven strategies in addressing emerging contaminants. Representatives from Europe (particularly Germany) and Japan expressed the strongest interest in advancing microplastic monitoring and removal technologies. The event also facilitated a valuable new connection with Japan’s Kurita Water Industries, opening the door to potential collaboration opportunities.

The company also took part in two additional forums under the Global Center Programming Export Trainings. The session “How Should We Maintain Large Sewers with Constantly High Flows?” organized by the Japan Sewage Works Association, explored engineering and infrastructure resilience strategies, where PolyGone contributed perspectives on integrating microplastic capture into large-scale sewer maintenance systems. Meanwhile, in “Cool Canada, Hot Technology,” hosted by the Canadian Consulate General in Chicago, discussions centered on advancing international partnerships and commercialization pathways for innovative water technologies. Across both workshops, key takeaways emphasized the growing global commitment to circular water management and highlighted opportunities in priority markets such as Canada, Korea, Spain, and New Zealand—regions actively investing in wastewater innovation, smart infrastructure, and sustainability solutions. The strong presence of international buyers from these markets at WEFTEC further underscored the global demand for scalable technologies like PolyGone’s to monitor and mitigate emerging contaminants.

Through its participation, PolyGone reinforced its commitment to driving scalable, science-based solutions and fostering international partnerships for a cleaner water future.
